LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – The Director General of the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Mr Baluwa Koroma, participated in the maiden edition of Civic Day London, where he held a series of strategic bilateral engagements with development partners and members of the Sierra Leonean diaspora community.
During the meetings, the Director General outlined the Authority's significant progress in strengthening the regulation of Sierra Leone's downstream petroleum sector. He highlighted key achievements in enhancing regulatory oversight, improving domestic revenue generation, and implementing reforms designed to position the country's downstream petroleum industry as a competitive and attractive investment destination within the sub-region.
As part of the event, Mr Koroma also held a detailed bilateral meeting with the incoming British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Madam Josephine Gauld. Their discussions focused on opportunities for future collaboration in areas including regulatory compliance, institutional capacity building, and digital transformation initiatives aimed at aligning Sierra Leone's downstream petroleum sector with evolving international standards and industry best practices.
The engagements reaffirm the NPRA's commitment to strengthening partnerships with international development institutions and fostering constructive dialogue that supports sustainable growth, improved governance, and continued modernisation of Sierra Leone's downstream petroleum industry.
